One thing that Chief has always taken a significant amount of pride in is our office space.  We know that our office represents how we work and who we are and as such have often received compliments from visitors who come see us.

This week we made a commitment to further improve our office space using the 5S principle in our office space.  The 5S's (sort, shine, set, standardize, sustain) has been used as a principle in our warehouse space for some time now and has always kept our warehouse as clean and clutter free as possible.

So the office crew went to work digging through drawers and sorting through files like we never have before to determine what we really need and what we don't.  Paper that was no longer needed (and there was a lot of it) was recycled.

Since the mass dump of old files and materials Chief has established a new clear set of guidelines for offices and work areas around the office.

Chief Industrial Engineer John Ferrier did a great job leading this project and will be one of the leaders in auditing the areas (some have already called him the 'Office Police') to ensure everyone adheres to the guidelines.

The Sorting of our work area yielded four carts full of materials (pictured below) to be reviewed and sorted by a Chief Cleanup Triage Team.
