Last Friday Chief Enterprises held it’s annual Christmas Party at Arena Bar and Grill in Elmhurst, IL. The Christmas Party is a nice opportunity for the Chief Employees were able to enjoy each other’s company and socialize outside of the office.
Each year Chief employees are recognized for their tenure of service and exemplary work to the company. This was a year where some incredibly worthy people were recognized.
Chief General Manager John Herzog was recognized for his 10 year anniversary with the company. John, like many at Chief has held many roles in the company and became General Manager just over a year ago. His diverse background in engineering and sales makes him an invaluable member of the Chief team.
It was announced that Marci Chartrand who has been with Chief for over 13 years has been promoted to Vice President of Administration. Marci runs Human Resources and Account Payables and Receivables for Chief. She was one of the first employees ever hired by the company and has provided continuity, leadership, and loyalty over the years to Chief.
Chief Vice President of Logistics, Sam LaBarbera was surprised with a special recognition for his incredible dedication to Chief over the years. Chief Enterprises is 17 years old, and Sam has been with Chief for more than 15 years of that time. He is the kind of employee that makes a company better with a fierce work ethic, dedication, and passion to the greater good of the company. Sam was given a beautiful watch for his years of service and gave some very heartfelt remarks to the team at Chief.
As Chief CEO Andrew Gabelman said, “No one better illustrates the heart and passion of Chief Enterprises like Sam LaBarbera.”
Chief is fortunate to have remarkable strength in people and leadership. Where many companies across America see rapid turnover in their employee and leadership ranks, Chief has maintained continuity across the company. Look at the three people recognized above, a combined 38+ years of experience.
This is a testament to the way that our founders, the late ‘Chief’, Jim Gabelman and current CEO Andrew Gabelman built the company. They have inspired loyalty, rewarded their team for performance and hired quality people. The results speak for themselves as Chief has grown in size and sales, but through it all has maintained the principles of a small company that goes above and beyond for it’s customers.
John Herzog, Marci Chartrand, and Sam LaBarbera exemplify this and set an example for the rest of the Chief team.
As the Holidays approach, we wish everyone a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season.
